Being able to not only help one another's businesses, but also supporting another local business, likeminded in that we both took the leap into business for the first time... that meant so much more than any data ever could.
When given an opportunity, you grab it with both hands and don't let go
As I was walking by myself into the Norfolk Show 2025, my first one attending as a solopreneur, an old family friend messaged me on Instagram. Lucy's sister, Laura used to babysit my siblings and I when we were little, so I knew a little bit about Lucy's yoga business through Laura growing up.
Finding my way into this hugely well-known event, it wasn't lost on me all the moving parts happening in my business and with Lucy getting in touch, it was a sign I was clearly doing something right.
Reconnecting with Lucy was surprisingly wonderful, because there was already an element of trust there and knowing one another a little bit. She hadn't realised I'd also gone into business, so when she asked if I would be able to design a website page for her, I said yes with confidence.
Building my own website from scratch and doing website work for clients was already beginning to pay off.
How I landed the role
Meeting the CEO and Governors of my apprenticeship provider, Swarm Training at the Royal Norfolk Show felt like reconnecting with old school teachers: lovely, wholesome and a mark of how far I've come!

Website Content Manager and Designer
As I entered the penultimate few weeks before the Worstead Festival, I brought on Yoga With Lucy as a temporary new client to work on her website. I will be honest: not the easiest task given I only had a finite amount of time to do it before the end of the month, and I was working on a deadline for her too. However, I came to realise upon reflection, that being under such pressure because I just had that much activity going on...it was absolutely brilliant, and the challenge was very exciting.
For Lucy, I did:
-
Website edits, making a new page
-
SEO (Search Engine Optimisation), so looking at what her customers were Googling, and ensuring those keywords were on her page
-
Regular communication and support
-
Analytics and reporting
The work with Lucy was so short and sweet, I set up a system to start tracking her Marketing activities, but I don't know the data results of the work I did for her.
If you are interested to see the work I did for her, do go and check out the page below.
Seeing Lucy during the Worstead Festival a few weeks later was also the loveliest surprise. She was kind enough to take these photos of me working away, because she understood how difficult it is to get this kind of content in the moment. With my camera, I'm doing Photography, and my phone tripod, Content Creation.
The band performing were the brilliant Booze Brothers Band, (featuring Chris Wilson) performing so many classic hits!
